The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an Apprenticeship Onboarding & Participation Officer to join our growing Apprenticeships team.

This is a key operational role supporting the successful onboarding, enrolment and participation of apprentices across a wide range of apprenticeship programmes. The role combines apprenticeship compliance, learner onboarding and learner participation activity to ensure apprentices are fully prepared to begin and engage successfully with their programme.

You will work closely with employers, Programme Leaders, coaches and support teams to ensure learners are enrolled accurately, funding requirements are met, learner starting points are correctly identified and apprentices transition smoothly into programme delivery.

The role will also support learner participation and engagement through onboarding activity, personal development themes, digital learning resources and learner communication initiatives across the apprenticeship journey. This is a fast‑paced role requiring excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

This role would suit an experienced apprenticeship professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is confident working independently to improve learner onboarding, engagement and compliance processes.

The successful candidate will primarily be based at Accrington & Rossendale College but may be required to travel across College sites.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Maintain clear communication with delivery teams regarding learner onboarding progress and programme starts
  • Deliver learner onboarding, induction and participation activity
  • Create and maintain digital learner resources and engagement activity within OneFile
  • Support learner participation, communication and personal development activity across the apprenticeship journey
What We Are Looking For:
  • Experience working within apprenticeship delivery, particularly apprenticeship onboarding, enrolment, compliance or learner participation
  • Experience contributing to the improvement of apprenticeship processes, learner engagement activity or digital systems/resources
  • Strong working knowledge of ESFA funding rules, compliance and evidence requirements
  • Experience of applying Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or assessing learner starting points
  • Experience working accurately within fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using e‑portfolio systems such as OneFile
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners through digital and group‑based activity
  • Assessor qualification (CAVA or equivalent)
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
What We Offer in Return:
  • Generous annual leave entitlement increasing to a maximum of 28 days (with service), plus Bank Holidays and closure days – totalling 41 days per year
  • Access to a workplace pension scheme – with employer contributions of 5%
  • Enhanced occupational sick pay scheme and access to family friendly policies and benefits
