At Soho House, a Baker will support the delivery of exceptional breakfast, brunch, and afternoon tea offerings, as well as baked items for events and restaurant service.

Your main responsibility will be producing high-quality bread, pastries, and baked goods that reflect the club’s premium culinary standards.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of baked goods including sourdough, focaccia, baguettes, viennoiserie, cakes, and pastries
  • Follow daily prep lists and production schedules to meet the needs of the club’s dining, events, and retail areas
  • Work in coordination with the Head Pastry Chef to create, test, and refine recipes that align with the club’s seasonal menus
  • Monitor and maintain consistency, taste, and presentation of all baked products
  • Attend regular meetings with front and back‑of‑house teams to learn about menu or service changes and specials, with daily tastings
  • Assist in preparation of team meals as requested, considering dietary needs and variety
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning, improvement, and teamwork
  • Support deep cleaning of the entire kitchen before close
  • Wrap unused items and store them in the proper area at the end of service
Qualifications
  • Passion for food, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn and grow
  • 2–3 years of professional baking or pastry experience, preferably in a high‑end kitchen, bakery, or hospitality setting
  • Strong understanding of artisanal bread making, fermentation, proofing, and shaping techniques
  • Positive, proactive, and respectful attitude in a busy kitchen environment
  • Culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 1 or 2) is a plus but not essential
  • Must demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously
