Job Title: Multi-Drop Delivery Driver
Department: Transport
Location: Service Centre
Reports To: Transport Manager

Job Purpose

To ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines.

Key Accountabilities

• Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• Perform a daily vehicle check to ensure roadworthiness, covering lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle and keep it clean.
• Ensure sufficient fuel for the day's work.
• Maintain security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• Ensure all orders shown on the dropsheets are loaded onto the vehicle.
• Collect goods returned for credit, mail, cheques or delivery bins and return them safely to the branch as instructed.
• Deal promptly and correctly with damages or breakages, following special procedures for HazChems.
• Maintain a smart appearance at all times.
• Help maintain good customer relations.
• Perform other duties as defined by management from time to time.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A full driving licence relevant to the vehicle.
• Drivers must be over 21 years of age and hold a clean licence.
• Existing employees must update fleet services with any licence changes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer care.
• Intermediate numeracy and literacy.

Desirable

• Previous multi-Drop delivery driving experience.
• Route planning experience.

Manual Handling

Manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are essential requirements of this role. The company cannot provide reasonable adjustments for applicants unable to carry out these duties.

Key Dimensions

No managerial responsibility and no direct influence on budget.

Key Working Relationships

• Constant interaction with external customers.
• Regular liaison with other drivers and members of the transport team.

Level of Decision Making

• Act on own initiative and work unsupervised.
• Monitor vehicle condition and report faults or damages.
• Decide when a vehicle is not roadworthy if serious faults or damages arise.

Additional Information

Drivers are required to maintain a smart appearance due to constant interaction with external customers.
