Deputy Manager (homelessness and complex needs) Location: Clarence House, Bedford Salary: Up to £26,000 depending on experience Hours: 37.5 hours per week including some weekend and evening shifts Are you experienced in supporting individuals suffering from homelessness and complex needs? Ready to take on a fresh challenge? We are looking to recruit a Deputy Manager to join us at our Bedford based homelessness hostel. Working as part of the management team, you will manage all aspects of our service including our dedicated support team that assist our residents, who have a range of complex needs. This service has 29 self-contained studio apartments with a team of support staff available 24/7. Duties * To assist the Team Manager in offering a broad range of support to people with mental health and complex needs; to help them sustain their homes and to live in the community. * Recruit, support and supervise staff, setting and demanding professional standards of working. * Overseeing and developing effective working relationships with partners and commissioners, ensuring that One Support is contract compliant and a positive reputation of the service is maintained. * Provide leadership and line management, supervision and appraisal to designated Support staff.  * Assist the manager in holding day to day responsibility for the rota and staff deployment. * Monitor service provision on a regular basis and assist the manager in ensuring that all service audit improvement action is completed. * Ensure that Medication Management and support is delivered within policy and procedure. * Ensure that all required databases are kept up to date and that appropriate records are kept. * Where required to oversee a caseload of customers. * Participate in the training of staff as required. About You * A minimum of 1 year working experience relevant to homelessness prevention and Complex needs * Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing including the preparation of letters, reports & file notes * Knowledge and understanding of up to date legislation, government frameworks relevant to mental health and homelessness prevention * Experience of assessment, risk management and support planning * Ability to undertake staff management - how to resolve conflict, elicit good performance and motivate staff * Ability to monitor service quality   * Management qualification or other relevant professional qualification (Desirable) About Us One Support, part of One Housing, provide support to a wide range of people, including young people, people with mental health problems, ex-offenders, and people with substance misuse problems.
