Mobile Janitor, Bellshill

Overview

Equans is looking for a Mobile Janitor to join our team working across North Lanarkshire Schools in Bellshill (ML4 3LR) on a permanent basis. This is a full‑time role of 37.5 hours per week with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Shift Pattern

This role follows a 2‑week rotating shift pattern across multiple school sites. Flexibility is essential, including weekend work on a rota basis.

• 37.5 hours per week
• 30‑minute unpaid lunch break
• Varied shift pattern offers a mix of early, mid, and back shifts.

Primary School Shifts

• 5 / 5½ days over 7
• Early: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:00
• Back: Monday – Friday, 14:00 – 21:15
• Saturday: 08:00 – 12:15

High School Shifts

• 5 days over 7
• Early: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 15:00

Mid Shift

• Monday – Wednesday, 08:00 – 16:00
• Saturday & Sunday, 09:00 – 16:15
• Back: Monday – Friday, 14:00 – 22:00

Please note: Shift patterns will vary depending on site requirements.

Requirements

• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Own vehicle for use (mileage expenses paid).
• Flexible and able to work across different sites and shift patterns.
• High degree of flexibility for deployment to different sites and shifts as needed.
• Ability to carry out janitorial duties at any North Lanarkshire Schools site.
• Experience in a janitorial role.
• Client‑friendly attitude.
• Experience working in a school environment is advantageous.
• Evidence of right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out janitorial duties across multiple school locations.
• Opening and closing buildings safely, including security checks and patrols.
• Responding to incidents and following emergency procedures.
• Liaising with police and emergency services when required.
• Ensuring premises are secure, clean and well‑maintained at all times.
