Bid Writer / Manager, Birmingham

My client, a leading Civil Engineering business operating across the UK, Ireland and the Middle East are seeking a Bid Writer / Manager to join a newly created bid team in Birmingham. About the company With over 50 years? experience behind them, my client has a proven track record of delivering major projects across a diverse range of sectors. They are a privately owned company with a great reputation and own one of the largest in-house plant fleets. About the role Due to continued growth, my client is building a new bid team in Birmingham. The Bid Writer / Manager will be responsible for writing and managing various infrastructure and civil engineering bids with the support of the wider team. You will monitor online trackers / OJEU notices and industry journals for new opportunities, attending meetings or networking events as required, review requirements of a new bid and develop and manage a deliverable and responsibility matrix, attend site visits when required, complete and submit the quality element of the PQQ?s and tenders, write responses and proofread responses for others, print and final compilation of the bid document and update and manage the bid library. About you You must have experience managing bids within an Infrastructure / Civil Engineering environment and experience writing responses relating to quality. You will have managed a small team and be able to plan work for others, set targets and manage the delivery of that work. As a Bid Writer, you must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal and be confident working to tight deadlines. Previous knowledge of construction industry practices is essential. Good commercial skills and knowledge of ECC NEC contract is also essential, and knowledge of JCT, ICC contracts is preferred. You must be degree qualified, ideally with a professional qualification in Civil Engineering although this isn?t essential. What?s in it for you?
