Senior Estimator - Civils, Birmingham

My client, a leading Civil Engineering business operating across the UK, Ireland and the Middle East are seeking a Senior Estimator to join a newly created bid team in Birmingham. About the company With over 50 years? experience behind them, my client has a proven track record of delivering major projects across a diverse range of sectors. They are a privately owned company with a great reputation and own one of the largest in-house plant fleets. About the role You will be responsible for delivering both Design & Build and Construct only bids covering a range of civil disciplines including highways, energy, waste water, water and waste management, industrial, marine, ports and airports. Other responsibilities include ? preparation of the tender with assistance from the pre-construction team, review and prepare a report upon receipt of a tender document including tender deliverables, undertake site inspections, compile risk registers, prepare and send out tender enquiries to supply chain, prepare tender sum analysis, priced document / bill of quantities, attend internal and external tender review meetings, liaise with design consultants, prepare post tender valuation of submission, attend handover meetings and review production analysis. About you You will be an experienced Senior Estimator and have a proven track record within Civil Engineering. You must have experience producing detailed and competitive tender submissions and be confident pricing projects up to £100mil in value. A relevant academic and construction qualification is essential with detailed civil engineering knowledge as well as membership of a professional institution. Understanding of the EEC NEC contract and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages is also essential. Experience in highways and design and build projects is preferable, as is experience with JCT and ICC contracts. What?s in it for you?
