PMLD Learning Support Assistant, Nottinghamshire

TeacherActive currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a prestigious and popular SEND school in South Nottinghamshire. This position is to support pupils with PMLD (Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties) and a variety of Complex and Medical needs . * A popular SEND All Ages School * £60 - £70 per day, depending on experience * Provides a creative and artistic learning environment to pupils The ideal candidate will have experience of supporting students with special educational needs, particularly with PMLD and complex/ medical needs. We welcome candidates with residential care worker backgrounds as well as recent graduates who are looking to build their experience working with SEN pupils. You will be supporting students with Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex/ medical needs. Many of the students will communicate non-verbally so being able to use Makaton or PECs will be ideal. You will be required to support with personal care (feeding and toileting) as well as Manual handling . You will also assess individual learning needs and work on a group basis.
