Senior Mechanical Estimator - Permanent - Birmingham - £45,000 - £50,000 salary AndersElite are recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Estimator based in the Birmingham area. This is a permanent role available from October 2020 and would suit an experienced building services professional, mechanically biased, ideally holding a HNC or HND in Building Services Engineering, with a strong background working for contractors in either a Mechanical Estimator or Pre-Construction Manager capacity. Our client is a well-established mechanical, air conditioning and electrical installation contractor who generally work for main contractor's and end users on multi-disciplined turnkey projects within the building services sector, typically in the commercial, education and retail fields. The appointed candidate will be responsible for the tendering and cost control of multimillion mechanical projects. Responsible for all aspects of estimating from initial enquiry to post tender working alongside bid managers. The appointed candidate will be capable of working independently on pre-designed mechanical projects, and in conjunction with the Mechanical and electrical design teams support on design and build M&E projects. Aware of HVAC Building Regulation guidelines - i.e L2 Compliance, DW142 and other industry standards, the appointed candidate will produce accurate pricing and preparation of mechanical quotations, ideally with personalised rates for mechanical installed items, such as ductwork and pipework. Candidates must be IT literate and conversant with excel cost spreadsheets or most estimating computer software. An essential part of the role in involves liaising with clients, consultants, architects, suppliers and sub-contractors, as well as being able to provide value engineering options and prepare technical submissions. Salary offered is circa £45,000 per annum although this is negotiable depending on experience and could be increased for the right candidate.
