With schools now phasing back into normal routines, an opportunity has arisen at a school in Stockport.  The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join the support staff team on a temporary basis. The role will focus on working in collaboration with other support staff, reporting directly to the SENCO and LSA Co-Ordinator. It is imperative that the required applicant is able to aid the school with their re-integration of pupils to the mainstream process after a lengthy time away due to Covid-19.  Requirements for this position are as follows: The applicant must be educated to degree level (or hold designated Teaching Assistant qualifications) The applicant must have prior experience working with students in either a mentoring/tutoring or alternative individual capacity. Experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable. Key highlights of this position include: Managing and catering for the specific individual needs of students with SEN, as well as students with EAL needs.  Monitoring academic progress and attainment, devising strategies to develop student engagement. Implementing methods that allow the learning process to be as accessible as possible. Working on a 1:1 level with students, as well as potential group work.  Working across multiple subjects, offering consistent support and guidance whenever necessary. Devising potential interventions for students who are struggling to enagage with the mainstream process. Providing regular feedback related to student progress, including feeding back to the school's SENCO and SLT when necessary. Pay: £275 - £350 per week. This role will commence from late September, and will run for 1 term until Christmas within the first instance. There may be potential for this to be extended further.  The school: Located in Stockport, the school site is easily accessible from Manchester city centre. There are numerous public transport links located close by (metrolink, bus, train) Motorway links also located in close proximity of the school.
