FDS Recruitment is currently seeking a Fire and Security Engineer (Security biased) in the West Midlands Our Client is a large BAFE accredited, NSI Gold company based near Birmingham. They are among the UK?s leading providers of fire protection and security services and provide a comprehensive design, installation and maintenance service. Their thorough understanding of the fire and security industry allows them to deliver contracts within the retail, commercial, industrial and education sectors on time and within budget. To meet this increase in demand they are looking to recruit a Fire and Security Engineer (Security biased) to join their growing team of experts. You must be a skilled, experienced SECURITY maintenance engineer to be considered for this post with the ability to also work on the fire maintenance side of the business. You must be confident in your work, reliable, conscientious, hardworking and must have a positive ?can do? approach. Fire & Security Engineer Qualities * Professional, confident manner with excellent customer care skills * Work well within a small team and on your own * Solve faults and problems using own initiative * Positive, self-motivated and proactive individual * Work methodically with the varied equipment used * The ability to operate effectively under pressure to rapidly changing circumstances * Well organised and assertive Your day to day duties will include maintenance and reactive works on access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems working with the mainstream security systems. You will also maintain fire detection systems. Some fire and security install, minor repair and commissioning works may be required at times. The majority of contracts are in the West Midlands area including Stoke on Trent, Coventry and Herefordshire and further afield. It is vital that the candidate is prepared to travel and can demonstrate strong knowledge and experience within the security and fire fields. All works and paperwork must be completed in accordance with British Standards and company policy, to be considered for this position you must possess good knowledge and understanding. Fire & Security Engineer Preferred Knowledge and Experience * MUST BE security biased but competent in both the Security and Fire industry * Good knowledge and understanding of BS 5839 * Proven technical background with a good knowledge of security systems and fire detection * Ability to fault find accurately * Willing to travel * Drivers Licence * Covering the West Midlands area ? including Stoke on Trent, Coventry, Herefordshire and further afield In return you will receive * Basic salary up to £35,000 per annum (negotiable) * Overtime opportunities * Bonus incentives * Call out rota (currently 1 week in 8) * Company van * 20 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with service) * Technical training * Support and scope to progress * Workplace Pension * Mobile Phone
