Civil Project Engineer - Substations, Birmingham

My client, who is one of the UK's leading engineering companies specialising in substations for power transmission, renewable energy and transportation is seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to manage the substation civil engineering, construction- and contracting activities on large portfolios of work. To be suitable for the position you must have; * 7 / 10 years? experience in: Developing project requirements, cost estimates, project plans and budgets within the construction industry (preferably on large multi-million dollar projects) * Bachelor or master?s degree in civil engineering or another construction related area and a member of a recognized professional institution * Knowledge of National Grid, SSE, EDF or similar major utilities Although not essential it would also be advantageous if you have; * Expereince working on turnkey electrical AC substation projects Role Information; * Contribute technical advice during the feasibility, design, construction and commissioning phases for projects to our direct labor force (Direct Services), framework contractors. * Liaise with civil designers or resolve site Technical Queries, remedial works and snags. * Monitor, control, and report on progress (costs and budget throughout the project) * Select key personnel and subcontractors for the project * Check and comment on civil documentation in accordance with contractual requirements of tenders / projects Navartis Ltd is a specialist recruitment company supplying highly skilled technical and management professionals within the global Transportation, Civil Engineering & Utility industries, if you are seeking a new position our recruitment team can locate the opportunity to suit your needs
