B2022 are looking for a Technical Official and Sport Volunteer Manager to be responsible for overseeing the selection and recruitment process of the Games Time Technical Officials across all 19 sports, managing the end-to-end process from nomination through to the provision of services at Games Time. The role will also be responsible for overseeing the identification and selection process for Sport Specific Volunteers in partnership with the Games Workforce department. Requirements In consultation with the Sport Competition Cluster Managers and International Federation (IF) Technical Delegates (TD), confirm the number of International and National Technical Officials required for each sport In conjunction with the IF's and National Governing Bodies (NGB's), support the identification, selection and appointment of all International and National Technical Officials Work with the Sport Competition Cluster Managers and NGB's to scope and oversee the delivery of the National Technical Officials Training and Development Programme Work with the relevant Games Functional Areas to ensure that all Technical Officials requirements are met, including but not limited to; travel planning and booking, accommodation, uniform scoping and distribution, per diem calculations and distribution, accreditation information gathering, catering service levels, transport service levels and medical provision Manage the correspondence and communication with the Technical Officials In consultation with the Sport Competition Cluster Managers confirm the number of Sport Specific Volunteers required for each sport In consultation with the Sport Team, define the responsibilities of and develop role descriptions for all Sport Specific Volunteers Together with the Sport Competition Team, work with NGB's and the Games Workforce department on the identification, selection and recruitment of all Sport Specific Volunteers Work across the Sport Team to manage the development and delivery of Role Specific Training for Sport Specific Volunteers Support the Sport Team with the assignment, rostering and scheduling of Sport Specific Volunteers Prepare, co-ordinate and maintain Technical Officials and Sport Specific Volunteer documents, project plans and presentations Provide input into specific uniform requirements for Technical Officials and Sport Specific Volunteers Provide written and statistical material for inclusion as part of the Transfer of Knowledge and post event reporting Responsible for the training, mentoring and professional development of the Technical Officials and Sport Specific Volunteer Coordinators, ensuring they are provided with the skills and experience necessary for Games time delivery Be active in the setting and on-going review of the Sport Technical Officials budget, regularly identifying possible operational and financial efficiencies. Thoroughly manage all aspects of the Technical Officials budget allocation in conjunction with relevant Functional Areas, seeking to maximise identified service levels within agreed budget allocations Establish, manage and deliver relevant Technical Official and Sport Specific Volunteer milestones and project plans and related reporting Skills & Experience Required Essential Passionate about the delivery of Sport at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Previous experience of planning flights and accommodation for large groups within a sporting setting Experience in recruiting, training and managing a volunteer workforce Knowledge and experience of working with Technical Officials with a strong understanding of their needs Previous experience working in a project management capacity within the sport and/or event sector, involving multiple tasks and stakeholders Excellent communication Tact, diplomacy and the ability to enthuse, negotiate and influence Relationships building and interpersonal skills Demonstrates an ability to interpret a range of information or tasks Effective leadership and problem-solving skills Ability to use computer software programs including the Microsoft Office Suite Desirable Previous experience of a multi-sport Games Knowledge of the Commonwealth Games This position is subject to a Basic criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
