Post-16 1:1 SEN SEMH Teaching Assistant -Urgently required £65 per day Your new school The school is set in the countryside in Staffordshire and offers education to SEN students. Your new role You will be a 1:1 SEN TA on the post-16 site supporting a student with complex social and emotional needs. You will offer support in the classroom and also be seen as a key member of staff that can offer pastoral support and encouragement. You will be responsible for following detailed safeguarding procedures and behaviour policies. You will also be working under the direction of the teachers to ensure students reach their potential. What you'll need to succeed You will need experience working with special educational needs within the last 2 years and must have the interpersonal skills to work with young people. You must be an excellent team player with great communication skills and have a sound understanding of the importance of safeguarding. You must also be able to de-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm and confident manner. This is for an immediate start and experience in the last 2 years is essential.
