Assistant Estimator, St Helens

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Estimator to work for a main contractor client. You will support construction projects across the North West region. Responsibilities: What you?ll do: * Assisting the estimating function within the region, providing support on all pre-construction projects * Liaising with peers in other parts of the group, together with all members of the North-West team * Producing and following up on sub-contract enquiries * Producing material enquiries in conjunction with buying department * Supporting the production analytical tenders for all projects from bills of quantities, specification and drawings etc * Assisting with the preparation of on-costs in conjunction with planning and operations departments * Preparing presentation packs for all Gateways * Liaising with Design Team during tendering process as necessary * Any other duties as required by the Head of Pre-construction * What you'll need: * HND Civil Engineering (or working towards this) * Previous experience working for a main contractor * Experience with estimating for construction projects * Excellent IT skills - including Microsoft packages (outlook, Teams, word, excel and power point) * Previous experience of using Causeway software would be an advantage * Strong communication and organisation skills * High attention to detail * Accurate reporting skills * Proactive individual with the ability to build and maintain strong business relationships * Drive and focus on solutions to challenges presented * Broad knowledge of the construction industry is required * Professional approach at all times, liaising with clients, sub-contractors and staff * Full driving licence
