THIS ROLE IS A REMOTE ROLE INITIAL AND WILL INVOLVE TRAVELLING TO VARIOUS SITES THROUGHOUT THE UK, YOU MUST HAVE A FULL, CLEAN DRIVING LICENCE TO APPLY Company Background: Having recently raised successful placings to the total of £30.0million and the acquisition of three VCT fund management contracts, we are significantly closer to becoming a valuable and valued asset manager with a strategic milestone of managing £1.0billion by 2022 Role Purpose: As a member of the Fund Investment team you will be instrumental in the full cycle of investment from initial lead generation through to full set up support and fund management. This is an early-stage technology fund that provides investment from £100,000 to £2m to businesses across a range of sectors. We currently host a portfolio of 70+ assets across its current EIS funds under management. Role Responsibilities: The Investment Manager is responsible for: Being up to date with new trends in various sectors to spot the next big thing Network building and development to ascertain new leads Ensuring full financial modelling for each opportunity has been thoroughly analysed to ensure that investors are comfortable it is the right opportunity Due diligence checks carried out on investment opportunities, include potential stakeholders Drawing up full structures to assist with investment process Writing investment papers that meet the current government guidelines and procedures Investment committee meetings, hosting presentations and dealing with any objections brought forward by potential investors in a professional and timely manner Legal negotiations Ensuring all work is done to government legislative standards Reviewing investee company performance Being able to discuss potential changes required with investors and manage them towards correct procedures Conflict of interest management Investment management plans - KPI's and board meetings Creating and maintaining 100 day plans and ensuring smooth implementation Attending investee company board meetings Creating thorough and methodical exit strategies Researching new investors to collaborate with current investment teams Monthly reviews of all investments within portfolio and handling/resolving any issues raised Promoting the best protocol for working environments to investment teams Being a supportive and nurturing mentor to junior investors and assisting them to develop their careers Some reviews of junior investors may involve your input Updating and ensuring the accuracy of the company CRMExperience & Qualifications Proven track record of early stage technological investments AND working with Venture Capitalists Presentable knowledge of the current UK venture landscape Experience working with Non-Executive Directors and HNWI, in an early stage investment environment Experience of dealing with high level board members and committee leaders Proven experience managing a large portfolio with tight deadlines and successful investment processes Proven analytical skills and business acumen A hard-working business mind set Good communication and interpersonal skills. Financial analysis and modelling experience across various levels and sectors Experience writing and presented investment papers to the highest standards and meeting government guidelines Ability to produce monthly reports and present finding to individual investment teams Experience of working in a regulated environment Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially with Microsoft Excel A relevant degree from a proven University is preferred but not essential A clean and full driving licence is essential as travel between various sites and investment opportunities will be required You should have the right to work in the UK
