As an Associate Director of Arboriculture and Forestry , you'll be responsible for the continuing development, implementation and management of arboriculture advice and surveys within the Landscape and Arboricultural team across a wide range of project stages and types

Grade: Associate Director
In this role, you will:
Manage, develop and support the wider arboricultural team on a national scale
Submission of clear arboricultural surveying pricing proposals to a variety of projects
Ensuring the delivery of comprehensive arboricultural reports, including Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements within tight time-frames to meet client requirements
Contribute towards EIA assessments, including a range of documents
Providing technical arboricultural solutions in a design and build environment
Work with a range of disciplines within Jacobs and with outside consultants
Contribute new innovative ideas, materials, research and learnings to the team, as part of your management and project work
Support both the landscape, ecology and other discipline teams within Jacobs
Manage arboricultural sub-contractors as part of the arboricultural offering Chartered Arboriculturist with The Institute of Chartered Foresters or equivalent
Have an in depth understanding of BS 5837:2012 and BS3998: 2010 and Knowledge of Streetworks UK: National Joint Utilities Group (NJUG) Volume 4
Understanding of National Planning Policy Framework (Ministry of Housing, Communities&Local Government, 2014) in relation to trees essential
Experience of managing teams on a national scale within a multi-disciplinary environment
Familiarity with CAD and digital survey hardware and software, including GIS and an interest to develop this further
High standard of report writing skills, and the ability to review other members of the arboriculture teams deliverables
Site visits and survey work forms part of the role, sometimes in more remote locations, therefore a driving license is essential for this role
Ideally, you'll also have:
Experience in submitting arboricultural surveying pricing proposals for large scale infrastructure projects
Experience of woodland management an advantage
Experience or additional qualifications in ecology an advantage
Experience of working on large scale infrastructure projects
