Do you excel in project management and have experience of delivering events of varying scale and complexity?

We're looking for a dynamic and highly organisedEvents Officerto join our City Council Events Team. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the city's cultural and sporting life, where you'll plan, deliver and evaluate a diverse programme of events - from community celebrations to major international showcases.

Key Responsibilities

You will take responsibility for the organisation and delivery of events including:
  • leading the planning, organisation, delivery and evaluation of events within the Council's Events Programme
  • giving advice, support and guidance to Community Event organisers, stakeholders and other agencies wishing to stage events in Birmingham.
  • managing event budgets, including monitoring expenditure, processing invoices and ensuring financial compliance
  • working closely with community organisations, sponsors, promoters, cultural bodies, sports governing organisations and external agencies.
  • supporting the process for attaining grant and commercial funding, though identification and creation of partnership opportunities that will enhance resource available and outcomes delivered through events

The ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when events require it is also essential.
