Regional Scrub Nurse - Part Time, Birmingham

Optegra has an exciting new job opportunity for an experienced Scrub Nurse to join our amazing and dedicated regional team on a part time basis 3 days per week 27.5h. This role covers four hospitals across the region – Birmingham, Uttoxeter, Nottingham and Leicester – and requires regular travel between sites. As part of a multi‑disciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive care to ophthalmic patients across clinical and non‑clinical pathways in all four hospitals within the region. You will deliver skilled clinical and technical assistance as a member of the operating theatre team, and may include peri‑operative and post‑operative care in the surgical and refractive suite.

You will maintain an ‘out of hours’ emergency patient service, adhere to clinical governance and Care Quality Commission standards, and ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

• Promote a sensitive, responsive and caring approach to all patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Deliver high‑quality, safe and effective patient care throughout the patient journey.
• Work efficiently and effectively to support consultants and surgeons.

• Registered Nurse with 1st level NMC registration.
• ODP Level 3 NVQ in Operating Department Practice or equivalent.
• ODA City and Guilds 752.
• Previous experience in theatres, general surgery or outpatients.
