CAT Injury Solicitor/CILEX 3-4PQE, West Yorkshire

Any office (full‑time with part‑time hours considered, minimum 28 hours per week, permanent contract). Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience.

Our client is a leading law firm known for excellence in complex litigation. They provide robust defence strategies in catastrophic personal injury cases to some of the nation’s largest insurance providers, businesses and suppliers, combining technical expertise, leadership and technology to improve processes and deliver market‑leading outcomes.

You will independently manage high‑value cases, defend complex injury and catastrophic loss claims, and support a senior lawyer with a high‑value complex injury defendant caseload. You will develop junior team members, delegate appropriately and nurture team collaboration. You will communicate and build relationships with clients, represent them in hearings, settlement meetings, mediations, arbitrations and trials. Cases often involve detailed analysis of complex liability disputes and indemnity positions. Successful candidates will handle traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, brachial plexus injuries, serious orthopaedic injuries and fatalities.

• Qualified solicitor or CILEX lawyer (equivalent to 3–4 years PQE)
• Significant experience handling or assisting large loss or catastrophic injury files, capable of managing a large loss injury caseload or having assisted at a high level on catastrophic injury cases
• Defendant experience preferable; claimant experience at an appropriate level of expertise and seniority will be considered
• Comfortable researching and analysing legal principles, case law, litigation practice and Court Practice Rules
• Strong technical knowledge in liability assessment, quantum issues and procedural issues (e.g. contested interim payment applications)
• Good organisational and IT skills, combined with excellent interpersonal communication (both oral and written) to colleagues, clients and third parties
