Volunteers provide essential support to all Trust services, both clinical and non-clinical in multiple roles, focusing on Prevention, Recovery and Wellbeing. The Trust recognises and values the unique contribution volunteers make towards improving the patient experience and complementing the services provided by the trust.

Hospital Reception meet and greet volunteers are asked to support welcoming visitors/patients to the Hospital, helping with check-in, and helping to direct people to/from different areas of the Hospital.

Training and DBS Checks

• All volunteers will undertake the standard Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust training prior to volunteering.
• All volunteers will have standard DBS checks prior to volunteering.

Uniform

• Humber NHS volunteer badge and lanyard (provided)
• Humber NHS Volunteer T-shirt (provided)
• Smart and comfortable clothing

Your Commitment

Your commitment to this role will be discussed on an individual basis. We ask volunteers to commit to a number of regular hours convenient for themselves within the hospital service hours (8am - 4pm). Any time that can be given will be greatly appreciated.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Greeting patients and visitors
• Providing guidance on car parking arrangements and giving information regarding location of toilets etc.
• Completing any other tasks deemed reasonable to support the smooth running of the reception area
