Installation & Commissioning Pre-staging Engineer, Chorley

Installation & Commissioning Pre-staging Engineer Chorley- 6 month fixed term contract Highways England have awarded telent the contract for the operation and management of NRTS (National Roads Telecommunication Services), a critical component of national infrastructure supporting the country's 4,400 mile strategic road network. This contract will provide an end-to-end managed service to build, maintain, and modernise the network. To be considered for this role the ideal candidate will need to be based in and around the Chorley area. What you'll be doing: The role of the I&C Engineer will report into the Commissioning and Test Manager, providing operational day-to-day updates to the Projects team. They will be responsible for ensuring that projects build, and all pre-stages and tested activities are fulfilled prior to deployment and are within project stage gates and timelines. Typical activities include: Supporting the Transformation team in delivering solutions that can be deployed in the roadside and Transmission Station environments, Confirmation of equipment per build per site Capturing all relevant paperwork (barcodes, serial numbers, IP Config details) Building each transmission station and or RCC Builds along with P&S requirements Loading of all config files and IP addressing information. Testing all active equipment in line with testing strategy requirements QA all work to make sure its in line with QA standards Flat packing RCC and TS builds and roadside in readiness for deployment. Pre-stage all other P&S works.What we are looking for from you: Comms / Data centre install experience or qualification Good communication and interpersonal skills; Experience of NOKIA, Juniper pre-stage or deployment configuration, (although training will be provided) Proven experience of pre-staging works within a large-scale project.
