Support Worker Full Time, Swanage

We are working with a national organisation that supports children with learning disabilities. Their ethos is based on the belief that the clients in their care should live fulfilling lives within their local communities. Due to their ongoing needs they are now looking for Support Workers in picturesque area of Weymouth. Responsibilities: You will provide emotional and practical support to children with Asperger's Syndrome and learning disabilities. You will be expected to assess their needs and work within the team to ensure the support plans are implemented and followed through. As a Support Worker you will establish and maintain effective communication with your service users, their parents and social care professionals.You will assist the children in the classroom environment as support them in their residential home with a variety of activities. Requirements: Our client is looking for people who have previous experience however candidates with no background in care will also be considered. Good communication skills are essential to be successful in this line of work. This role requires patience, good people skills and a sense of humour to defuse any challenging situations. Due to the location of this job, driving licence and access to a car are essential. We are looking for people who would like to make a career in care and are able to work shifts which will include evenings and weekends.
