The Residence Coordinator is a full-time, on-site position based in Bournemouth, responsible for supporting the daily operations of a student residence and fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging living environment. In this role, the Residence Coordinator assists with resident check‑ins and check‑outs, handles general inquiries, and provides front‑line support to residents. The role includes coordinating residence life programs, events, and initiatives that promote community, wellbeing, and academic success. The Residence Coordinator supports student conduct processes by documenting incidents, ensuring adherence to community standards, and referring matters to the appropriate internal contacts. Key tasks also include supervising or guiding student staff where applicable, assisting with administrative duties such as reporting and record‑keeping, and collaborating with maintenance and facilities teams to address building‑related issues. This position requires regular communication with residents, colleagues, and external partners to ensure a high‑quality living experience.
Qualifications- Residence life experience, including supporting student communities and organising residential programmes and events.
- Knowledge of student conduct processes, including incident documentation and promoting adherence to community standards.
- Supervisory skills with the ability to guide, support, and motivate student staff or junior team members.
- Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and effective interpersonal skills with diverse student populations.
- Background in education, student affairs, housing, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload, and maintain attention to detail in a busy residential setting.
- Experience handling sensitive situations with discretion, empathy, and good judgment, including crisis response support.
- Comfort with basic administrative systems and property management or CRM software; proficiency in standard office applications (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing).
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support residence activities and peak operational periods.
- Knowledge of UK higher education or student accommodation environments is advantageous.
