Field Service Engineer, Newbury

We are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to cover the South West of England. Working for a renowned organisation in the automation environment. The Job The position is a home based role, with a schedule given by the head of engineering for a variety of different customer sites across the South of England. You are paid from door to door, provided a company van, mobile phone, laptop etc. Responsible for assisting planned breakdowns on larger resident sites with teams of 15 engineers+. As well as smaller sites for emergency breakdowns for customers. Your week is based on 37.5 hours (most average working weeks are 45-50). With O/T paid at x1.3 and x.15 on weekends. You will need to be flexible with regards to travel. Ideal location is Newbury. This is to ensure the field service team are spread out well across the South of England and to ensure you are situated close enough to customer sites, meaning you will not have to stay away (unless in extreme and rare circumstances) The Environment Inside the clean warehouse/production facilities is a variety of MHE, consisting of conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics etc. The right candidate must have a background especially with conveyor systems, hydraulics and pneumatics. You need to be comfortable working under pressure. You will be responsible for the gearbox changes, bearing changes and roller changes and all mechanical aspects of the position. As well as working with single/3 phase motors, fault finding via PLC (no programming/modifications). Some customer sites have large racking systems (training at heights provided). You will need to be comfortable working to a height of 25m in some cases (you will be fully harnessed up) The Basics; Basic salary of £32,000 (OTE of 40-45k Depending on hours worked) Home Based role covering the South West of England Ideal locations of Basingstoke, Swindon, Newbury etc.YOU: Multi-skilled engineer with experience working in an automated environment BTEC or equivalent in Engineering / 3 year apprenticeship Experience of automated materials handling equipment Ability to work in time critical environment Excellent communication skills and good work ethic.
