Temporary Care Practitioner, Shoreham-by-Sea

DegreeSix Recruitment are looking for enthusiastic and experienced residential Support Workers who want to make a difference in the lives of Adults (18-65) and/or Young People (8-17) with disabilities which include Autism, Mental Health problems and Challenging Behaviours in a variety of services in the area. As a temporary Support Worker you will be providing a combination of support including domestic, and in some cases, personal care. You will be empathetic and understanding of the trauma those in your care have suffered which can manifest into challenging behaviours. A successful candidate should have: * You must be at least 18 years of age to work with adults and 21 to work with young people * Full UK driving licence, this is not essential but an advantage * At least 3 months experience supporting vulnerable people with challenging behaviour or in a residential setting * DBS registered with the update service, this is not essential but an advantage If you meet the above criteria, we can offer you: * Variety of shift patterns including long days, early / late shifts and waking nights * Flexible working hours to fit around your own availability * Ongoing training including the opportunity to complete a work-based diploma * Hourly rates between £8.75 and £10 per hour + Sleep Over payments (£17,500 - £20,000 + s/o full time equivalent) * Enhanced bank holiday pay, double time in most cases * Opportunity to transition into a full time, permanent position * Options to work as PAYE or limited contractor * Personal account manager as your point of contact The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service or will be able to provide Update Service subscription details
