Person specification

Experience/Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Basic medical degree
• FRCR or appropriate specialist qualification
• Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
• CCT in Radiology or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
• Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC

Desirable criteria

• Higher Degree
• Distinctions, scholarships, prizes, other degress e.g. BSc, MSc, MS

Clinical Skills&Experience

Essential criteria

• Neuroradiology subspecialty training in Cross Sectional reporting
• Experience of reporting complex neuroimaging
• Understanding of clinical risk management
• An ability to communicate well with patients and staff

Desirable criteria

• Fellowship in neuroradiology/ Head&Neck
• Experience in head&neck cross sectional reporting
• Experience in advanced neuroimaging techniques and/or working in close collaboration with a tertiary neurosciences unit

Knowledge

Desirable criteria

• Breadth of experience in and outside specialty

Organisation&Planning

Essential criteria

• Experience and ability to work in multi-professional teams
• Understanding of: NHS / Clinical governance / Resource constraints

Desirable criteria

• Evidence of managerial skills: Achievements / Course attended

Teaching Skills

Essential criteria

• Evidence of an interest and commitment to teaching

Desirable criteria

• Recognised teaching qualification e.g. PGcert Med Ed

Academic&Research

Essential criteria

• Evidence of participation in audit

• Prizes and honours

Career progression&Personal attributes
