Mechanical Test Engineer (Materials Test Engineer) c£40-50k prorata (Contract) ABJ4936 South East (3 month contract) c£(Apply online only) ltd a day As an experienced mechanical (materials) test engineer you will support both R&D and third party creative technology developers as part of the testing electronics device engineering team focusing on hardware devices. As a mechanical test engineer activities include: * Manage the overall strategy of design validation on device product as well as correspond ecosystem * Mapping out the test plan framework along with team to ensure the product developed meeting high-level quality requirement. * Review, maintain and develop the appropriate test protocol and test report standard to meet product development requirement * Review, maintain and develop the corresponding testing facilities to be in line with company test strategy to ensure they have the right capability to support business growth. * Liaise with cross category teams to maintain alignment with the specified test plan, standard and procedures * Connects with external expertise to keep up with the latest technologies in testing and standard * Test automation and optimization * Failure analysis support Qualifications and Experience * Bachelor of Science in mechanical or material engineering field, with specialisation in testing or product quality control * Several years of mechanical or materials testing experience in an electronic device industry or similar * Previous experience in development testing or product quality engineering * In-depth knowledge of different testing methodologies, facilities, procedures and industry standards * Previous experience working as a member of a development team * Previous experience at a 3rd party testing lab or consultancy * Previous experience at development testing lab or test validation function in design companies * Extensive knowledge of testing and validation, using various protocols and quality tools to ensure product meeting standard requirement. * Familiar with engineering tests including (but not limited to) climate & environmental, mechanical reliability and durability, electrical and software, regulatory certification test * Working knowledge of creating test standard, formalize protocol and test setup using various test machine and equipment * Working knowledge of mass produced product development and debug tools * Knowledge and understanding of product development processes * Working knowledge about the general quality tools like FMEA, 8D or six sigma .etc. * PowerPoint, excel, and word * Experience with Microsoft suite of applications (Azure DevOps) would be beneficial. * Knowledge of embedded hardware based on ARM-Cortex microcontrollers * Some knowledge of a software stack and how the major components relate to each other.
