The Digital DevOps & Release Manager (DDRM) is primarily responsible for the creation and ongoing running of our CI/CD DevOps pipeline used by our supplier partners and the management and protection of releases through, where appropriate, Build/Develop, QA, UAT, Pre-Prod and Production environments across the Digital estate. This will include all consumer-facing (B2B, B2C & B2B2C) Digital assets (websites, eCommerce, mobile apps, IoT & specialist applications to support new revenue generation through diversification). The DRM will ensure that tools, people and processes are in place to allow SGBD to scale efficiently and securely with accelerated release cycles. The DRM will consult both internally and with external partners to assist with implementation and optimisation of continuous integration and continuous delivery processes to enable a complex range of digital delivery projects to succeed. For the Digital DevOps & Release Manager role, you will need: Prior experience of working as a Release Manager, DevOps Architect or DevOps Engineer is essential Ability to thrive in a complex environment operating across the UK and as part of a global business Extensive experience and understanding of agile methods - you should also be able to demonstrate continuous improvement with evidence of regular high-quality deployment experience to production environments using a DevOps pipeline Familiarity working with nearshore or off-shore resources in blended teams and be able to address pipeline and environment concerns whilst shaping or defining planned work in detail To be comfortable operating within a dynamic, fast paced culture where we discuss everything using whiteboard and pens Prior experience of using minimum viable products (MVP) to test new ideas is highly relevant Competent presentation skills are essential.
