Python Software Engineer Bristol | WFH £50,000

Full or Part Time Python Software Engineer - Bristol - Working from home. £40,000 - £50,000 Remote working is possible however the preference is someone who lives close enough to Bristol to come in once a week or more later in the year. We really like this company, both the values they have and the work they do to help how we as human interact. Hiring has been on hold for a few months but now feel ready to continue with their 2020 hiring plans. They have unbelievable retention of staff as people love working there, great products, interesting problems and really good, down to earth, honest people. They are looking for a Software Engeineer, with experience working with web stacks from client side UI libraries down to the storage layer and everything in between. They mostly work with Python web frameworks however if you haven't used Python then they'd want to see industry experience in a good range of different languages with the plan for you to cross skill into Python. For frontend development they generally use XHTML, Less/CSS and JQuery/Javascript and have to support a wide range of browsers including mobiles and tablets. They have lots of devops things to do, including deployment automation for servers around the world. Using Ansible for this, along with a bunch of our their own scripts. Again, you don't need to have used Ansible, but it would be best if you're not (too) scared of SSHing into linux servers, grepping logs and tweaking apache configs. All their application code, automation scripts and configuration are version controlled using git, as is most of their test data. They all need to be able to modify, build and run each other's code, so these days they're pretty hot on documenting things too. This is just a taster of what they do and use, you DON'T need all of the above. They are a well-established business where you'll be given loads of autonomy and responsibility and directly involved in the design of their software products. They have options to work full time or part time - for part time you also have the option for scale up days each month, basically creating the best work life balance which suits you. They haven't completely worked out a plan for returning back to the office right now so for now you'll be working from home as it's less germy and better for the carbon footprint. They do like to get together however at least once a week and likely the plan later in the year or early part of 2021 you'll be close enough to Bristol to come in, hang out, trash out designs etc. They want to make something work for everyone A fab company culture - it literally doesn't get better in my option. 2 stage interviews kicking off asap.
