Early Years Assistant Practitioner, Bristol

To work as part of an early years team helping to provide a high quality of care for children aged 0‑5 years in a safe, caring and stimulating environment.

Main duties of the job

• Ensure the health and safety of children in your care.
• Collaborate with Early Years Practitioners to create a safe, stimulating environment that supports children's development.
• Be a key person for a group of children, helping them settle in, building relationships with them and their families, and maintaining accurate records of their progress.
• Communicate daily with parents, sharing updates about their child's welfare and progress.
• Plan and contribute to individual and group activities that encourage learning and development.
• Work flexibly across different rooms and age groups, and occasionally at other locations within North Bristol Trust.
• Attend staff training and meetings to stay updated and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Follow the EYFS framework, North Bristol Trust policies, and data protection guidelines.
• Promote equal opportunities and maintain a culturally sensitive environment.
• Contribute to quality assurance schemes and attend parents' evenings and staff appraisals.

Person Specification Education/Training/Qualifications

• Formal education

Work Experience

• Experience of children under 5
• Experience in a childcare setting
• NHS experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Basic knowledge and understanding of children's needs
• Able to show initiative
• To show a responsible attitude
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
