An established advanced engineering and manufacturing business is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of control systems across complex industrial equipment.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will remain close to the technology while taking ownership of a small team and ensuring systems are delivered effectively across projects.

What you will be doing

• Leading delivery of PLC and control systems across industrial equipment
• Managing and developing a small team of engineers
• Working across projects to ensure systems are delivered to a high standard
• Supporting and improving how controls and software are developed

What they are looking for

• Strong background in PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text)
• Experience within manufacturing, machinery or industrial environments
• Knowledge of control systems and comms protocols such as Modbus, EtherCAT or IO-Link
• Previous experience leading or mentoring engineers
• Exposure to tools such as SCADA, HMI or Codesys would be beneficial
• Understanding of functional safety standards is advantageous

This role would suit someone currently in a leadership position or a senior/lead engineer looking to step into a management role while staying close to the technical side.
