Overview

We’re looking for a caring, dependable and proactive Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Droitwich (WR9), working weekends to support individuals through the night. You’ll be supporting 10 individuals (4 ladies and 6 gentlemen in their 20s) with learning disabilities, autism and complex health needs in a shared supported living environment. Waking nights are essential to ensuring people feel safe, comfortable and supported – helping them to rest well and prepare for the day ahead.

Strong relationships with family members are important, and maintaining consistent, high-quality support is key.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing (Waking Nights) As a waking night support worker, you’ll remain awake and alert throughout your shift, providing essential support and reassurance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out regular safety and wellbeing checks
  • Supporting personal care needs overnight, including bathroom support
  • Providing reassurance and promoting restful sleep routines
  • Responding calmly to any needs or incidents during the night
  • Completing accurate records and handovers for day teams
  • Maintaining a safe, calm and supportive environment
Shift Patterns
  • Saturday: 10:00pm – 7:00am
  • Sunday: 10:00pm – 8:30am
Personal Qualities
  • Calm, patient and reliable
  • Comfortable working independently overnight
  • Observant and able to respond to changes in behaviour or health
  • Caring and reassuring in your approach
  • A good communicator and team player
  • Organised and confident with record‑keeping
Experience and Training
  • Experience is helpful but not essential – full training is provided.
  • An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this role, the cost of which will be incurred by Dimensions.
