Yard Operative, Burnley

Thrive Group Bolton are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our busy builders merchants team in Burnley. This is a customer-facing role, ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, helping customers and being part of a fast-paced environment.

• Picking and packing customer orders (typically 50–100 products daily)
• Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
• Assisting trade and public customers in the yard
• Answering telephone enquiries and taking customer orders
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised yard area
• Heavy lifting and manual handling throughout the day
• Supporting warehouse and counter staff when required

• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a physically demanding role
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Team player with good attention to detail
• Previous experience in a builders merchants, warehouse, or yard environment preferred but not essential

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 7:30am‑16:00 with 30 minutes unpaid lunch. This is a temporary position; this could lead to long term for the right candidate.
