Our client, based in the East Cheshire area, are looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer.
This is a permanent role paying 50,000 - 55,000 per annum dependant on level of experience.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday *8am to 4.30pm. *Potential for some flex in these hours to accommodate traffic etc.
The job is commutable from the following areas:
* Crewe, Middlewich, Holmes Chapel, Congleton, Macclesfield, Leek, Northwich, Knutsford, Biddulph, Newcastle-under-Lyme & North Stoke areas.
To be considered for the Mechanical Project Engineer role, you will need to have 5+ years' experience working within mechanical engineering.
You will ideally be from a process driven environment & understand interactions between moving parts; covering process machinery/plant design & associated ancillary equipment, bearings, shafts, rotating machinery, seals etc.
This is a really varied role dealing with the internal design / manufacturing teams whilst also communicating with the client.
Duties:
* Obtain and review client specifications, drawings and analyse results gained from product tests to ensure proposals meet client requirements.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates and produce proposal documents to present to the client.
* Working closely with clients and in house design / production staff to jointly manage the clients requirement.
* Responsible for all project documentation, site surveys and commissioning in the UK.
* Occasional site visits to discuss and update client accordingly, perhaps 3-6 times a year.
Qualifications and experience:
* Bachelor's degree or similar qualification in mechanical engineering.
* 5+ years working in mechanical engineering or a process engineering environment.
* To be conversant with food or chemical process equipment and control systems.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft office.
* Understand engineering drawings produced on SolidWorks.
* Knowledge of mechanical principles and how equipment interacts.
Desirable:
* Contract management experience and good commercial awareness.
