Blue Arrow are recruiting for a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join a high-quality hospitality operation in Staffordshire. This is an excellent permanent opportunity for a passionate chef to take on a key leadership role within a premium, fast-paced kitchen environment focused on fresh, seasonal food.



Working Hours & Pattern

  • 45 hours per week [Head Chef...Harri Jobs]
  • 5 days out of 7 [Head Chef...Harri Jobs]
  • Includes evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
  • Flexibility required to meet business needs


The Role

As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring consistently high standards across food preparation, presentation, and service. You will be hands-on, leading by example and helping to drive performance within the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef with full kitchen operations
  • Supervising and motivating the kitchen brigade during service
  • Preparing and delivering high-quality dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Assisting with menu development and innovation
  • Maintaining food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards (HACCP & COSHH)
  • Supporting stock management, ordering, and cost control
  • Ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation across all dishes
  • Stepping up to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Contributing to a positive, high-performing team culture


About You

We are looking for a confident Sous Chef with:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a professional kitchen
  • Experience at Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous level
  • Background in fresh food, high-volume environments
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Good understanding of kitchen financials and cost control
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in busy services
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Food Safety Level 2 or above
