Desktop Support Engineer, Bury St. Edmunds IP29 5DS

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance, resolve hardware and software issues, and ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations for our employees. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and a customer-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 & Level 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or macOS systems.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).
• Support end users with software applications, email, and system access.
• Manage user accounts, passwords, and permissions in Active Directory / Azure AD.
• Perform imaging, deployment, and upgrades for company devices (SCCM, Intune, or similar tools).
• Document issues, resolutions, and processes in the ticketing system.
• Coordinate with IT teams for escalations, system updates, and scheduled maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and IT best practices.
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment and assist with asset management.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in IT support or desktop support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS, macOS (optional), Office 365, and common productivity tools.
• Experience with Active Directory, user administration, and group policies.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with imaging tools (SCCM, MDT, Intune, etc.).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £170.00-£180.00 per day
