What You Will Do

• Chairstatutory Looked After Children (LAC) reviewsin line with legislation and Bury Council procedures.
• Ensurecare plans are child-focused, outcome-driven, legally compliant, and promote permanence and wellbeing.
• Monitor and evaluate thelocal authority's performancebetween reviews to ensure children's needs are being met.
• Ensure thechild's wishes and feelingsare central to all planning and decision-making.
• Provideindependent oversight and professional challengeto drive high standards of practice.
• Usedispute resolution and escalation processeswhen necessary to safeguard children.
• Coordinatemulti-agency participationin reviews, including health, education, and other professionals.
• Work closely withchildren, families, carers, and professionalsto improve care planning and outcomes.
• Overseecare plans, permanence planning, placement stability, and quality of interventions.
• Maintainaccurate and timely records and review documentationon the council's system.
• Contribute toquality assurance, service improvement, and developmentacross Children's Services.

Qualifications&Registration (Essential)

• Degree or equivalent qualification inSocial Work.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Significantpost-qualifying experience in Children's Social Care.

Knowledge&Experience (Essential)

• Strong experience working withLooked After Children, Child Protection, and Permanence Planning.
• In-depth knowledge of theChildren Act 1989&2004, IRO Handbook, and relevant regulations.
• Proven ability tochair complex meetingsand work effectively in amulti-agency environment.
• Confidence in providingprofessional challenge and escalationwhen required.
