This is an exciting opportunity for a SEN Casework Officer to join our dynamic team remotely on a locum basis. Earning£280 a day, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with the management of the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment and Annual Review process for children with complex additional needs. What you will do:
  • Manage statutory processes related to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments/Plans for a specific case load of children and young people.
  • Prepare and present cases to panels and provide feedback to schools, parents, and professionals, implementing outcomes with creative solutions where necessary.
  • Identify issues, negotiate, and resolve problems arising from casework and inter-agency work.
  • Draft Education, Health, and Care Plans, attend planning meetings, and assist in monitoring the progress of children and young people through the Statutory Annual Review process.
  • Develop effective relationships with schools, professionals, and other agencies, working in partnership with parents/carers, children, and young people.
  • Negotiate educational provision with schools and manage contract compliance with providers.
  • Support the team in ensuring statutory duties and targets are met and contribute to policy development.
  • Participate in planning and delivering the Local Authority's response to special educational needs and deliver training to schools and other agencies.
  • Ensure an understanding and awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.

Overall Purpose of the Job:
To assist in managing the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment and Annual Review Process for children with complex additional needs, ensuring effective resource use in schools and settings both in and out of County.
