Head Chef - Care Home, Canterbury

We are looking for a head chef to run the kitchen and ensure high food standards for a care home located in the Canterbury area of Kent. The role is centred on creating delicious, nourishing meals that residents look forward to and particularly supporting those in our dementia unit to connect with food and evoke happy memories.

• Run the kitchen and ensure everything runs smoothly and meals are ready on time.
• Create menus, including themed days, and manage the kitchen team.
• Maintain high food standards and manage all allergens diligently.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations.
• Work daytime hours.

• Experience in preparing fresh food with good time‑keeping skills.
• Strong organisational abilities and a compassionate approach to people with dementia.
• Good understanding of allergens and various dietary requirements, including soft diets.
• Successful completion of a DBS (security check) and food hygiene certification.
