Intermediate – Senior Building Services Design Engineer, Cardiff

We are seeking an Intermediate to Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to be primarily based in our Cardiff office. This is an opportunity for someone who wants real responsibility, client exposure, and the chance to shape projects — not just deliver tasks.

02 The Role

You will play a key role in delivering multi-disciplinary building services projects from concept through to completion. Depending on experience, you will lead smaller projects or take technical ownership of major project elements within a collaborative team environment.

You will be expected to:

• Demonstrate a passion for building services engineering
• Demonstrate experience of delivering multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion
• Multitask in a lively and challenging environment
• Lead projects as part of a close knit team
• Deliver fully integrated design solutions
• Take a hands-on approach to the delivery of projects
• Independently interrogate design challenges and deliver comprehensive design solutions
• Communicate effectively with the Client and team members
• Develop and maintain key Client, Architect and design/construction team relationships
• Tailor work to the requirements of the RIBA project stage

03 About You

We are looking for someone operating at Intermediate level minimum, ideally progressing toward Senior Engineer.

You will:

• Have a minimum of 3 years experience in building services design
• Be working toward chartership (e.g. CIBSE)
• Demonstrate experience delivering projects from inception to completion
• Be confident managing workload across multiple live projects
• Show strong technical capability in mechanical building services systems
• Be comfortable in client-facing situations
• Be proactive, commercially aware, and solution-driven
• Be committed to CPD and continuous professional development
• Have experience with relevant design software (e.g. modelling, AutoCAD/Revit, etc.)
