Job Description: Class 1 HGV Driver

As a Class 1 HGV Driver at Oakland International, you’ll be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of goods, ensuring our commitment to exceptional service is always met. Operating out of our Bardon depot, you’ll be an integral part of our logistics network, upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Daily vehicle checks and reporting of vehicle defects to ensure our fleet is always in top condition and fit for purpose.
• Keeping vehicles clean and maintaining temperature controls in line with delivery specifications.
• Carrying out customer deliveries and collections on time and in full.
• Maintaining strict compliance with EU Tachograph regulations and working time directives.
• Adhering to all Health and Safety policies at Oakland International and all sites you visit.
• Liaising with the Transport Office promptly to elevate any issues.
• Opportunities for nights out are available within our work patterns.
• Supporting the Warehouse team as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Building strong working relationships with colleagues and customers, fostering a respectful and mutually supportive environment.
• Actively participating in our personal performance and development process and undertaking relevant training, including Level 2 Food Hygiene.

What We’re Looking For:

• You must have held your Class 1 License for a minimum of 2 years.
• A commitment to maintaining a high standard of food safety culture, product safety, quality, legality, and integrity.
• Job Type: Full-time
• Average Week: 48 hours
• Schedule: Night shift, with options for Sunday – Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday.
• Start Times: Typically 7:00 PM – 4:00 AM.
• Pay: £42,000.00 per year
