Description

Key Dispensing Responsibilities

Dispense medication as directed by the GPs and in line with the Practice Protocol.
Maintain stock control.
Order drugs as required.
Ensure the process of dispensing is timely and accurate.
Maintain the on-call drug box stock supplies daily.
Ensure proper procedure for the administration of controlled drugs.

Key Administrative Responsibilities

Responsibility for checking deliveries and making sure they match the order.
Responsible for the collection and preparation of prescriptions for submission to PPA on a monthly basis.
Collect monies from private patients and paying dispensary patients.
Liaise with patients regarding exempt status and ensure all FP10’s are processed correctly.
Deal with telephone enquiries and face to face in a professional and friendly manner.
Liaise closely with dispensing GP Lead.

Key Team Responsibilities

Key Miscellaneous Undertakings

Understand and observe practice protocols and patient confidentiality.
Attend monthly staff meetings.
Take part in the annual performance appraisal system and undertake such training as is deemed necessary by the practice.
Perform other tasks as required by the GPs and Managers which are reasonable and in line with the principles of this job description.
