Lead Product Support Engineer, Poole

Fortress Recruit are now recruiting for a Lead Product Support Engineer on behalf of a leading defence manufacturer in Poole, to join their growing Production Engineering team.

This role will provide technical leadership across manufacturing, supporting complex electro-mechanical products throughout the production lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the Product Support Engineering team
• Act as the primary technical escalation point for assembly and manufacturing issues
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis across production
• Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain and operations teams
• Support supplier discussions around manufacturability and components
• Drive continuous improvement across quality, efficiency, and output
• Support new product introduction and lifecycle engineering activities

To be successful, you’ll have:

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly engineering
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong technical problem-solving skills within electro-mechanical environments
• Experience using CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CREO
• Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels
• Experience working in complex or regulated engineering environments
• Eligibility for SC clearance (5 years' UK residency without visa or sponsorship requirement)
