Job summary
The Ministry of Defence, Civil Service workforce isdiverse, with many different functions and professions ranging from cyber and digital transformation, police officers, security guards, trainers, human resources, teachers, psychologists, storekeepers, and policy secretariat staff to support the British Army.
The Defence School of Transport (DST), based at Normandy Barracks in Leconfield, was formed in 1996 to provide driver and transport management training to personnel from the Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Marines.
The school trains 10,000 service personnel every year, delivering outstanding training on road-going and specialist military vehicles. Training is conducted in classrooms, lecture theatres, demonstration areas, a purpose-built road and cross-country training area and on public roads.
DST can train up to 1,500 personnel at any time making us the largest residential driving school in the World. We are recognised as a Centre of Excellence by: DHL, Eddie Stobart, the US Army, the US Marine Corps and the French Army amongst others. To meet this vast training task our dedicated establishment of 700 military and civilian personnel operates a fleet of 600 vehicles ranging from saloon cars to Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) professional to specialist military trucks and lease-hire LGV.

Job description
The Defence School of Transport is seeking to appoint a motivated, detail-oriented Administration Officer to support the delivery of Defence Driver Licensing and Testing capability.
This role sits at the heart of Defence Driver Training and directly supports the Ministry of Defence in delivering driver licence acquisition, testing and assurance for Service Personnel. You will contribute to a critical operational output, ensuring processes are delivered accurately, efficiently and in compliance with DVSA, DVLA, and Defence regulations.
You will work within Training Support Wing, supporting both Licence Acquisition and the Defence Licence and Testing Authority (DeLTA), helping deliver a nationwide function responsible for up to 12,000 training and licensing transactions annually. With ongoing developments in Information Management Systems, there will be opportunities for further training and professional development to support evolving business needs
As an Administration Officer, you will deliver end-to-end administrative support across driver licensing and testing activities, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and effective coordination across multiple stakeholders.
