PMLD Teaching Assistant, Coventry

Smart Education are working with an outstanding special school in Coventry, that caters for pupils aged KS1 and 2. The school specialises in profound and multiple learning difficulties and physical disabilities. We are looking for an experienced teaching assistant that has worked with PMLD / SLD previously either within education or a similar setting. You will always be supported by the class teacher and other members of staff. The school aims to provide the pupils with a bespoke education helping the pupils to achieve the best they can. The school offers trial days/ week to help you familiarise yourself with the school before committing to a long term position. We are looking for a teaching assistant who is committed to supporting PMLD students with their learning, by using communication methods such as PECS and Makaton depending on the needs of the students; ideally, you will have manual handling experience. The school is ideally located with transport links including train and bus. This is a full time long term role from September 2020 but the school will consider part time or short term roles for the right candidate.
