SEN Teaching Assistant Special Education Needs school is looking to appoint a Teacher Assistant to their education provision in East Grinstead. The School caters to Young People with Special Education Needs from 7-19 years of age. The School benefits from the lovely scenery of Wakehurst Botanical Gardens. Along with a competitive starting salary, you will work only during school hours and have weekends off! Your workday will start just before 9 am and finish at 4:30 pm at the latest. On Friday's there is an even earlier finishing time to start your weekend off. You will receive a comprehensive training package tailored to your needs and development. A full induction and training will be provided so you are equipped with the skills to perform your role. You will be welcomed into a friendly and supportive team. With your experience in EBD (emotional behaviour disorder) and challenging behaviour, you will be a guide and show the students how to understand their emotions in a way that any other Young Person can, regardless of their education needs. You will be a key player in contributing to the lesson plans and work in unison with the teacher. You will have the chance to further develop your teaching skills by leading lessons and contributing your personality into the lesson plans. Having the correct positive attitude to towards this role is key and will make your interactions with the students even more meaningful. Having previous experience in SEN (Special Needs Education), EBD, or being a Support Worker in Children's Residential Home will be key and put you at the forefront of the short-listing process, however, full training is provided.
