Job Summary

Are you a recently qualified Occupational Therapist looking to embark on a rewarding career? Join Farmfield Hospital in Charlwood, Surrey. This is a full‑time position, flexible working may be considered. You will support low and medium secure services for male patients detained under the Mental Health Act, planning and facilitating evidence‑based group and individual programmes to maximise independence and support safe re‑settlement into the community.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex clients using an evidence‑based approach to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. Provide patients with the confidence, skills, and coping strategies to function in everyday life.
• Respond promptly to new admissions, undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise needs before planning and delivering appropriate interventions. The OT team follows MOHO.
• Contribute to risk assessments, attend ward rounds and CPA meetings, providing feedback on patients’ engagement in Occupational Therapy. Ensure accurate electronic records.
• Develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi‑disciplinary team, ensuring practice aligns with Elysium policies and statutory regulations.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, relatives, carers and external professionals throughout the rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• UK HCPC registration or an application in progress.
• Previous experience in a mental‑health setting (including placements).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Where You Will Be Working

Farmfield Drive, Charlwood, Surrey, RH6 0BN. Working alongside a dedicated team caring for adult men with forensic backgrounds and enduring mental‑health issues such as personality disorder, substance misuse and challenging behaviours.
