Senior Civil Engineer Location: Derby Salary: Competitive Overview Our client is an established civil and structural engineering consultancy has an immediate requirement for a Senior Civil Engineer to join its experienced civil engineering design team in Derby. The role offers exposure to a wide range of projects across multiple sectors and provides structured support towards chartership.Key Responsibilities Design and drafting of SuDS schemes, private external works, and Section 38 and Section 104 works for adoption Civil engineering design and drafting across residential, industrial, and commercial sectors Delivery of projects ranging from small housing schemes to multi-storey developments, with construction values between£250,000 and £30 millionContribution to projects delivered to BIM Level 2 Use of industry-standard software including MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil3D, and PDS, with final drawings produced in AutoCAD Deputising for the team leader as required, including planning and organisation of tasks, people, and resources to ensure timely project delivery in line with current design guidelinesSkills&Experience Essential: Demonstrable experience using AutoCAD for technical drawing (to be assessed at interview) Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering Logical and analytical approach to problem-solving Experience using Civil3D or PDS, and InfoDrainage or MicroDrainage Knowledge of the construction industry, relevant design standards, and basic health and safetyStrong written and verbal communication skills Experience Suitable for a Civil Engineer with 3-5 years' post-graduate experience Experience working collaboratively within a civil engineering design team Proven ability to manage and deliver design work to required technical standards Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and in writingProfessional Development On-the-job training provided to support continued technical development Close collaboration with senior engineers and structured mentorship towards ICE chartership Education&Additional Skills Strong background in English and Mathematics Fully computer literate, with competency in Microsoft Word and Excel Strong analytical and problem-solving capability TPBN1_UKTJ
