Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our MRI team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Luton site, as a Band 7 MRI Radiographer.
We are recruiting for1 full-time permanent post, 2 fixed-term posts for 6 months, and 2 bank opportunities. This is a fantastic time to join a busy, forward-thinking MRI service that continues to grow and develop across the Luton site and our mobile MRI unit based at Grove View GP Hub in Dunstable.
The successful candidates will work across our main MRI department and mobile MRI service, using bothPhilips and GE MRI scanners. The role will support extended service delivery, including11-hour shifts,helping us provide high-quality, patient-centred care across a wide range of MRI examinations.
We are looking for motivated, flexible and enthusiastic MRI Radiographers who are able to work to a high standard, support service improvement, participate in audit, and contribute positively to the development of the department. You will also be expected to support junior staff, students and the wider multidisciplinary team, and to deputise for the Modality Manager when required.
As part of the interview process, candidates may be asked to deliver a10-minute presentation.

Main duties of the job
To deliver a high-quality MRI service, maintaining the highest standards of imaging, patient care and safety at all times. This includes undertaking a wide range of MRI examinations, adapting protocols to meet clinical needs, and ensuring compliance with Trust policies, MRI Local Rules and MHRA guidance.
To ensure a safe MRI environment through strict adherence to screening procedures, safe use of equipment, and awareness of potential risks. You will be competent in emergency procedures, including quench, fire and cardiac arrest scenarios.
To act as a role model, supporting and training radiographers, students and support staff, promoting a strong culture of safety, professionalism and continuous development.
To supervise staff and support daily workflow, ensuring efficient service delivery and a safe patient pathway, including the care of anxious or vulnerable patients.
To contribute to audit, quality assurance and service improvement initiatives, supporting the ongoing development of the MRI service.
To support operational management and deputise for the Modality Manager as required, ensuring the service runs safely and effectively.
